Pinoy Ako, an OFW in Dubai

Working abroad brings a lot of challenges to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW). It is a roller coaster ride of emotions of pain, joy, homesickness and excitement. This blog gives a glimpse of the best and the worst of our times. Here’s a peak on the typical eventful day of an OFW which maybe not be different from yours.

The stories on this blog aim to shed a light on the unconditional love, sacrifice and passion of us OFWs to bring happiness to our loved ones back home and the people around us. Living and working daily with people beyond our comfort zone entails a lot of tales, both good and bad; culture speaks its own language, our coping mechanism is always at high alert. Amid tons of soaring workloads and high expectations from employers as well as cranky housemates, we still chose to brave the storm and go where the tides take us.

It also provides helpful tips and guides to Filipino expats here in Dubai with some facts and figures about UAE.

I am an OFW and my journey started way back 2006. Just like all the other OFWs, I also took this opportunity to augment my family’s life. And just like them, I also had my shares of joys and sadness, of highs and lows of triumphs and disappointments and of learning and unlearning.

This is the life, musings and whatnots of an OFW in Dubai. Listen to the stories of our happiness, pains and most of all, our dreams.

Nagmamahal,

Kabayan
